Quickly Disable DPM Backup Jobs on a Computer

Tip explains use of Disable-DPMProductionServer PowerShell cmdlet.

Data Protection Manager deploys DPM Protection Agent on managed computers. DPM Protection Agent helps in executing the backup jobs. In case you wish to disable backup jobs for a computer, you must disable the DPM Protection Agent. You can do so by using DisableDPMProductionServer PowerShell cmdlet as shown in the commands below:

  • $ComputerName = Get-DPMProductionServer –DPMServerName “TestServer”
  • Disable-DPMProductionServer –ProductionServer $ComputerName
